Types of Verbs
Verb Tenses


Main objective:

The students will be able to identify the parts of the speech and verb tenses and types in a well structured sentence in oral and written form.

Specific Objective:
The student will be able to use the grammatical rules and the verb tenses in all writing and oral performances.


Writing Objective: Use the grammatical rules in a sentences structure and learn how to use verbs tenses. Apply the rules in writing papers.

Listening Objective: Be able to differentiate verb tenses between different dialogs and be able to do an small dialog using the right tenses and well-structure sentences.

Reading Objective: Look for specific grammatical rules and use of the verb tenses.

Grammar Objective: Identify verbs, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions,interjections and conjunctions in informal and formal paper.

Speaking Objective: Read out-loud using intonation and adequate grammar. Participate in dialogs.

Vocabulary: Identify the different tenses, adjectives and adverbs.




What would be assessed informally?

During the class time in the classroom it is going to be assess writing, speaking, reading and listening.
Speaking: The students must show a continuous progress in speaking the target language. The need to pronounce correctly all the sounds and words. Some students may have difficulties in the pronunciation but the effort is going to be grade in this matter.
Writing: Students must spell words correctly and use a well-structure sentences in all writings.
Reading: Intonation must be clear. Students must participate in the dialogs and conversations out-loud in classroom.
Listening: Students must be able to understand oral instructions and capable of answer listening exercises.

Note: Participation: It is obligatory in this subject.

What would be assessed formally?
In classroom we will evaluate the same points as in the informal assessment but with different variables.
Speaking: Student be able to maintain a basic conversation using the verbs tenses, the vocabulary learned and the parts of speech correctly.
Writing: It will be graded through papers where it must contain correct spelling, well-structure sentences and coherence, by using the parts of the speech in the correct place.
Reading: The student must show a comprehending level of a lecture in order to answer written questions.
Listening: Students must be able to understand with accuracy and relevance the tapes play.


What would be the weight?

Informal Assessment 40%
Participation obligatory but not graded

Speaking and reading 20%
Writing 10%
Listening 10%


Formal Assessment 60%

Speaking (fluency) 20
Writing this (includes the grammar portion) 20%
Reading and Listening 20%
